Another one of the original batch of songs that was supposed to come out last year, but we only got back Fabe's and Roc Sols verse, leaving us holding an incomplete song. Fast forward a year and the homie Ekym from New Mexico killed a final verse for the song. After the Kendall Vz Hialeah Civil War, I bonded with Hialeah spitter and Dirty 5ive Promoter, Jakx who said he would love to be on the project so I sent him the beat and he blessed it with a 4th verse within 24 hours. All of the artist on their project delivered above and beyond what we could have expected, but the ultimate Salute goes to Ekym1536. He is an MC/ Sound Engineer from New Mexico who just happened to come to Miami to study Sound Engineering and tapped into our local underground hip hop scene. Having a long history in his own Indie Scene back in New Mexico, having opened up for such legends as Hieroglyphics and other West Coast Legends as a member of NM Hip Hop group PO10CEE ...Ekym never presented himself as someone who deserved our props or favors. Instead, he put in the hard work, came out to the shows, rocked the open mics and networked with the scene. I was one of the dudes lucky enough to build with him, and since then he has become my Engineer, Group Mate (Native Slanguage), Vice City Cypher Crew Member, and confidant/ friend. This album would not be possible or sound as good without his long hours of dedication to the mix, ideas and input on the scratches, samples and verse placement, and just overall enthusiasm for a scene that isnt even his home town scene. You've shown us your love for the So Flow Hip Hop Scene through your actions EK, and for that, we consider you official #SOFLOW.
This song is our farewell to this fucked up year and our Celebration of things to come. Our final gift to you is our Prayers and Wishes of PEACE on to you and your family. As the hook says, Our PEACE is elevated through the things that we fight. May your Peace be great after this crazy year we lived through, and may it be enough to get you through the year to come. PEACE.
