I wrote this to the 1st beat on DJ Proof's BIRTH TAPE 3 Beat Tape. I had expressed to Proof an interest in blessing one of his beats so he told me to check his band camp and pick something I liked. This was the first beat I played, and ended up being the 1st song on the album.
At the time (Late 2018, Early 2019) I hadn't written a rhyme, hit up a Cypher, or entered the booth in a while, and I had yet to drop any Solo material. So the What Goods Potential when you never reach it fully line that starts the song was really me talking myself back into the writing process.
Salute to Orion Brass Balls, Sir Charles Thousand, Hillary with the Culinary Skillary, and Ekym for telling me how they really feel in the intro. lol.
On a side note, this song and PLACES 2 GO were both written on a Train and Bus Ride to Orion's house to record the WDDH RADIO PODCAST Episode in tribute of SOLOMAN SPECTRUM. Rest In Peace SOLO, you inspired this album more than you will ever know.
