*Correction -This was the actual last song I wrote for the Album. The only song was written in the Corona Era. The majority of the project was written in 2019 and we started recording THE WATERPROOF in Feb of 2020. After 2 recording sessions, the lockdown hit, and everything changed. We still managed to safely record the project, and when I heard this beat on THE QUARANTINE SLAPS 1, I inspired to write BELIEVE, which ended up being the most relevant song on the album to our current situation.
I had a lot of fun writing this one around the Believe and Trying samples, and let myself be transparent with the fears and frustrations I was dealing with when this whole mess started.
We felt that vibe-wise and message-wise, it was a perfect album closer. No matter what happens, THE WATERPROOF is about that, our BELIEF in something bigger than us (even if you just Believe in Yourself) gives us the hope and strength to push on during tragedy. Its how we stay WATERPROOF during the Flood.
